About Tidewater
How Tidewater started
In the net loft in 1994. Our story, what we believe and who leads us.

Our story
It started in the net loft
In 1994, three fishing families started praying together on Sunday mornings in the net loft above the harbour, because it was the only room in the village big enough. The nets were moved out in 2002, and the church bought the loft in 2010.
We’re still a small-town church. We take Jesus seriously and ourselves less so, and when a boat is overdue the prayer chain starts before the coastguard calls back.
What we believe
What we believe
01
Jesus
He is Lord of wind and waves, and of our lives.
02
Hope
God’s promises hold us steady when nothing else does.
03
The Bible
We navigate by it, and it has the final word.
04
One crew
Church is people pulling together.
05
This coast
We look after everyone along it, church or not.

Callum has been our pastor since 2011. He still keeps a boat, and most Fridays he’s the one leading prayer on the breakwater.
